Never change a battery again. The Kidde Sealed Lithium Smoke Alarm saves you up to and eliminates battery replacement hassles.
Product Highlights
  • No battery replacement for the lifetime of the alarm
  • Powered by a tamper-free sealed lithium power supply
  • Self-Activation automatically activates unit when attached to bracket
  • Smart Hush silences alarm in non emergencies
  • Money-saving alarm is great for homes and rental properties
This alarm uses ionization sensing technology for the smoke alarm. Ionization sensing alarms may detect invisible fire particles (associated with flaming fires) sooner than photoelectric alarms. Photoelectric sensing alarms may detect visible particles (associated with smoldering fires) sooner than ionization alarms. Kidde strongly recommends that both ionization and photoelectric smoke alarms be installed to help insure maximum detection of the various types of fire that can occur within the home.

Great for Homes and Rental Properties
This tamper-free alarm prevents battery or alarm removal, eliminating worry about unauthorized battery removal or unauthorized deactivation of the alarm. Also, this alarm is a good choice for rental properties and high-density dwellings, as its sealed tamper-free design prevents theft, while also reducing labor and material costs. This helps to ensure that the property and inhabitants are protected by a fully operational alarm.

Easy to Install with Self Activation
The innovative automatic activation of this alarm is unlike any other smoke alarm design. The alarm will automatically activate when it is attached to the mounting bracket; there are no pull tabs and no switches--everything is automatic. At the end of the alarm life, the unit will chirp, indicating the alarm is in need of replacement. You can use a simple tool, such as a screwdriver, to deactivate the unit, stopping the low-battery chirp and making the alarm safe for disposal. The sealed-in board-mounted batteries will power the unit for its complete 10-year life. No replacement batteries will ever be needed.

Trademarked Hush Feature for Convenience
By pressing the smoke alarm's Hush button, you can easily and safely silence nuisance alarms caused by non-emergency situations, such as overcooked dinners. This alarm's Smart Hush feature has the capability of temporarily desensitizing the alarm circuit for up to eight minutes. This feature is to be used only when a known alarm condition, such as smoke from cooking, activates the alarm.

The smoke alarm is desensitized by pushing the Test/Hush button on the smoke alarm cover. If the smoke is not too dense, the alarm will silence immediately. The red LED will illuminate for 1.5 seconds every eight seconds while in Hush mode. This indicates that the alarm is in a temporarily desensitized condition.

Additionally, the smoke alarm will automatically reset after approximately eight minutes and sound the alarm if particles of combustion are still present. Smart Hush can be used repeatedly until the air has been cleared of the condition causing the alarm. Pushing the Test/Hush button on the alarm will end the hush period.

Power Outage Protection, Indicator LED, and Test Feature
A 10-year sealed lithium battery powers this alarm, providing continuous protection against smoke and fire hazards even during power outages. Because a smoke alarm only helps protect you if it's working, this unit features a red LED that flashes every 40 to 45 seconds to indicate that it is operating correctly. For additional peace of mind, the alarm contains a Test/Reset button that enables you to periodically test its circuitry and horn.

The unit measures just 5.6 inches in diameter and 1.5 inches in depth, and it features a neutral, white finish.

This smoke alarm is UL listed, so you can be confident of its quality, and it is backed by a 10-year limited warranty.

SC07 Combination Talking Smoke Alarm and Carbon Monoxide Detector
At a Glance:
  • Dual alarm detects both smoke and carbon monoxide
  • Combines an audible verbal warning with loud alarm and flashing LED
  • Uses an electrochemical carbon monoxide detector--the most accurate sensor available
  • Photoelectric sensing technology reduces false alarms

WHERE TO PLACE SAFETY PRODUCTS:

Smoke Alarms: 1 in every bedroom and at least 1 on every level of the home.

Carbon Monoxide Alarms: 1 on every level of the home and 1 in each sleeping area.

Fire Extinguishers: 1 on every level of the home and 1 each in the kitchen and garage.

2 systems work independently to detect both fire and carbon monoxide View larger.

Where does carbon monoxide come from?
Two-in-One Alarm System Protects Your Family
The SC07CN is unique because it features two alarm systems that work independently to detect both evidence of fire and carbon monoxide (CO). Easily programmable, this device features separate audible and visible signals that indicate dangerous levels of smoke or CO.

For example, if a high level of CO is detected in your kitchen, you'll hear a clear message saying, "Warning: evacuate. Carbon monoxide in kitchen. Evacuate." You'll also hear a loud, 85-decibel alarm and see a flashing red LED that clearly indicates the nature of the threat. Together, these audible and visible signals let you know precisely where the danger is, so you can plan the safest possible escape route. This extra level of protection is something a standard alarm simply can't provide.

Powered by two 'AA' batteries (included), this alarm uses an electrochemical carbon monoxide sensor--the most accurate CO sensor available. It also uses photoelectric sensing technology, which provides optimal protection from smoldering fires and reduces false alarms like those caused by cooking smoke and shower steam. The SC07CN even stores CO readings and verbally communicates the highest level of CO detected, so you can easily discern patterns that indicate it's time to check your appliances or other combustible items for CO leaks.

For convenience, most household remote controls are compatible with this system, meaning you can quickly test or silence the alarm. Additionally, an alarm mute button silences unnecessary alarms and allows you to test alarm function. There's also a low-battery warning that indicates waning power--a low-battery mute quiets the low-battery signal for up to eight hours. Finally, an end-of-life alarm that tells you when it's time to replace the unit, and a side-access drawer makes for easy battery changes. This alarm comes with a five-year warranty.

Carbon Monoxide: The Leading Cause of Accidental Deaths in the U.S.
Carbon monoxide, an invisible, odorless gas, is the leading cause of accidental poisoning deaths in America, yet many people don't know they are suffering from CO poisoning until it's too late. Because you can't see, taste, or smell it, CO can kill you before you even know it's there. Likewise, exposure to low levels over time can make you ill.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission recommends that every home have at least one carbon monoxide alarm with an audible warning signal--like the SC07CN--installed near sleeping areas. An alarm like the SC07CN can detect the CO you can't see, smell, or taste before it causes any physical harm to you or your family.

Smoke Alarms Offer the Best Chance of Escaping Deadly Fires
Fire is a deadly threat to every household; it can strike anywhere, any time. The frightening truth is that in 2005, there were nearly 381,000 home fires in the U.S., resulting in over 16,000 casualties. Because of the very real threat of fire, it is vital that every household uses tools for fire protection. Smoke alarms like the SC07CN are the easiest, most cost-effective way to keep your family safe from fire. The more smoke alarms you have installed in your home, the more your safety increases.

What's in the Box
Combination carbon-monoxide and smoke alarm, two 'AA' batteries, and user's manual.

Kidde 0919-9999/ RF-SM-DC Battery-Operated Smoke Alarm, Wirelessly Interconnectable Feature

  • Wireless technology uses radio frequency to both transmit and receive messages about a hazard in the home
  • Battery powered enables homeowners to install interconnected smoke alarms in existing homes without rewiring
  • Smart touch button quickly and temporarily silences nuisance alarms activated by any alarm in the system
  • Wireless alarm can be installed in a detached workshop or shed to work with your interconnected system
  • Kidde?s wireless smoke alarms meet the requirements of Underwriters Laboratories (UL), an independent facility that tests products for compliance with widely-accepted safety standards
The Kidde 0919-9999 Battery-Operated Wireless Smoke Alarm allows for the easy installation of an interconnected smoke alarm system without the high cost and hassle of rewiring your home. The alarms are wirelessly linked so that when one alarm is triggered, all alarms will sound. This alarm can also be placed in a detached workshop or shed and linked into the home's interconnected system.

Experts recommend interconnected alarms, because when one sounds, they all sound, providing an early warning against fire by dramatically increasing your ability to hear an alarm anywhere in your home, regardless of where the fire starts. Newer homes are required by code to have interconnected alarms. Wireless technology now enables any home to have an interconnected system.

This alarm uses ionization sensing technology.

Choose the Right Wireless Alarms for Your Home
Kidde offers two wireless product options: a Battery Powered Smoke Alarm, and an AC Powered Smoke Alarm. These products enable you to customize your system based on your specific needs. Read below to see which Kidde wireless smoke alarms are best for your home.

Why Wireless?
  • When one alarm sounds they all do
  • Ability to interconnect without wires
  • Install in minutes, anywhere in the home
  • Less cost, and less hassle than re-wiring
i4618
An interconnected system provides more warnings in more places in case of smoke or fire in your home.

The Kidde Wireless System alarms have a hush button to silence nuisance alarms. View larger.
Getting Started with Wireless Interconnect in Three Easy Steps

Step 1 - Determine the type of smoke alarms currently installed in your house.

1. Battery Powered
No wires; runs only on batteries.

Most older homes have battery-powered smoke alarms. These alarms have no protruding wires and are battery powered.

2. Hardwired
Runs on your home's electricity and may have battery backup. Only one alarm sounds when test button is pressed.

If your home was built in the last 20 years, you probably have hardwired smoke alarms. If only the alarm that you test sounds, then you do not have an interconnected system.

3. Interconnected
Runs on your home's electricity and may have battery backup. All alarms sound when one test button is pressed.

Homes built in the last 15 years may have an interconnected smoke alarm system. If all alarms sound when you test, you have an interconnected system.

Step 2 - Decide how many alarms you need in your home.

The NFPA recommends at least one smoke alarm on every level of the home and in every sleeping area.

Step 3 - Based on your home's current alarm set-up, decide which Kidde Wireless alarms to purchase.

1. If your home has only battery powered alarms:
Purchase enough Kidde Wireless Battery Powered Smoke Alarms (0919-9999) to replace all of your current smoke alarms. You will also have the ability to add Kidde Wireless Battery Powered Alarms in additional rooms for expanded coverage.

2. If your home has only hardwired smoke alarms:
Purchase enough Kidde Wireless AC Powered Smoke Alarms (1279-9999) to replace all of your current smoke alarms. You will also have the ability to add Kidde Wireless Battery Powered Alarms in additional rooms for expanded coverage.

3. If your home has interconnected smoke alarms:
Purchase one Kidde Wireless AC Powered Smoke Alarms to replace one current smoke alarm. Kidde Wireless Battery Powered Alarms can then be installed in additional rooms.

Interconnectable for Improved Safety
Fire and consumer experts recommend interconnected alarms for added protection. According to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), most Americans feel they are more at risk of being a victim of a tornado than of a house fire. Actually the opposite is true. Fires are more common than any other disaster that strikes a family at home, and can become deadly in minutes.

You have on average less than three minutes from the time you hear a smoke alarm to escape a fire. The sooner you hear an alarm, the sooner you can get out safely. Smoke alarms that link together so that when one goes off, they all go off, are called interconnected alarms. These alarms provide more warnings in more places, giving your family more time to escape a house fire. Houses built after 1993 are required by building codes to have interconnected alarms that are wired into their electrical system.

Trademarked Hush Feature for Convenience
By pressing the Hush button, you can easily and safely silence nuisance alarms caused by non-emergency situations, such as overcooked dinners.

This alarm's Smart Hush feature has the capability of temporarily desensitizing the alarm circuit for up to 8 minutes. This feature is to be used only when a known alarm condition, such as smoke from cooking, activates the alarm. The smoke alarm is desensitized by pushing the Test/Hush button on the smoke alarm cover. If the smoke is not too dense, the alarm will silence immediately. The red LED will illuminate for 1.5 seconds every 8 seconds while in hush. This indicates that the alarm is in a temporarily desensitized condition. The smoke alarm will automatically reset after approximately 8 minutes and sound the alarm if particles of combustion are still present. Smart Hush can be used repeatedly until the air has been cleared of the condition causing the alarm. Pushing the Test/Hush button on the alarm will end the hush period.

3-AA Batteries, Indicator LED, and Test Feature
Because a smoke alarm only helps protect you if it's working, this unit features a red LED that flashes every 10 seconds to indicate that it is operating correctly. For additional peace of mind, the alarm also contains a test/reset button that enables you to periodically test its circuitry and horn.

The alarm's 3-AA batteries provide continuous protection against smoke and fire hazards, even during power outages. The unit offers a low battery warning that issues a brief chirp every 30 to 40 seconds for at least seven days before losing power, letting you know that it's time to change the battery.

This alarm is UL listed, so you can be confident of its quality, and it is backed by a 10-year limited warranty that lasts the life of the alarm.

Kidde 900-0158 Battery-Operated Combination Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm with Talking Alarm and Children's DVD Feature

  • Includes Commander Courage Safety DVD for Kids
  • Talking Alarm announces the hazard type detected helping to speed up the reaction time
  • Single unit can be installed where previously two were needed
  • Battery Safeguard ensures the unit cannot be accidentally mounted without batteries installed
  • Battery operated 3 AA's included
The Kidde 900-0158 Battery-Operated Carbon Monoxide and Smoke Alarm with Children's Fire Safety DVD (alarm model KN-COSM-B) combines a carbon monoxide and smoke alarm, providing two important safety devices in a single unit. This alarm includes a voice warning system that announces "Fire, Carbon Monoxide, Low Battery, or Smart Hush Activation." The voice alarm eliminates any confusion and clearly warns you and your family of a smoke or carbon monoxide danger or if your battery is in need of replacement. This unit uses three AA batteries, protecting you and your family even during a power outage.

The 900-0158 comes with a DVD that will help your kids learn about fire safety.
Combination Smoke/CO Alarm for Improved Safety
The Kidde Combination Carbon Monoxide & Smoke Alarm includes a voice warning system that eliminates confusion and clearly warns you and your family of a smoke or carbon monoxide (CO) danger, or if your battery is in need of replacement or your alarm is in hush mode.

Alarm Warnings
Fire: The red LED will flash and be accompanied by three long alarm beeps followed by a verbal warning message "Fire! Fire!" The alarm will repeat the pattern until smoke is eliminated. View movie showing voice warning

Carbon Monoxide: Four short alarm beeps followed by a verbal warning "Warning! Carbon Monoxide!" This continues until the unit is reset or the CO is eliminated. View movie showing voice warning

Low Battery: One chirp followed by warning "Low Battery." The red LED light will flash. This pattern will continue every minute for the first hour. After the first hour, the red LED light will flash once every minute and will be accompanied by the chirp sound. The "Low Battery" warning will only sound once every fifteen minutes.

Voice Hush Indication: "Hush Activated" and "Hush Canceled" voice announcement.

Peak Level Memory: If the alarm had detected a CO level of 100ppm or higher when the Test/Reset button is pressed, the unit will announce "Carbon Monoxide Previously Detected" to warn of the CO incident.

Trademarked Hush Feature for Convenience
By pressing the Hush button, you can easily and safely silence nuisance alarms caused by non-emergency situations, such as overcooked dinners.

This feature desensitizes the alarm for approximately 10 minutes. If the smoke is not too dense, the alarm will silence immediately, the unit will verbally announce "Hush Mode Activated", and the green LED will flash every 2 seconds for approximately 10 minutes.

Reliable Battery Power, Indicator LED, Test Feature and Low-Battery Warning
The battery powered alarm provides continuous protection, even during power outages. Because this alarm only helps protect you if it's working, this unit features a red LED that flashes every 30 to 40 seconds to indicate that it is operating correctly. For additional peace of mind, the alarm also contains a test/reset button that enables you to periodically test its circuitry and horn.

If any form of battery failure is detected the red LED light will flash and the unit will "chirp" one time, followed by the warning message "Low Battery." This cycle will occur once every minute, and will continue for at least seven days.

Seven (7) years after initial power up, this unit will "chirp" every 30 seconds. This is an "operational end of life" feature which will indicate that it is time to replace the alarm. UL 2034, the independent standard applicable to CO alarms, requires CO alarms to have an end of life warning. This requirement went into effect in March 2007, meaning any CO alarm manufactured after April 2007 with a UL listing must have this feature. Most states that require CO alarms in residential dwellings mandate that the alarm meet the UL 2034 standard.

The unit measures just 5.75 inches in diameter and 1.7 inches deep, and it features a neutral, white finish. It includes tamper resist features to deter vandalism or theft. This combination smoke/CO alarm is UL listed, so you can be confident of its quality, and it is backed by a 5-year limited warranty.
